Not a whole lot happened this week. For the first time in my mission I was sworn at by someone for...just being a missionary. So we knock this door and this American guy answers up and he starts saying how it's a bad time and how he's not gonna get in another argument with us Mormons. Then he mentions how the Bible doesn't mention the BOM and how it's not necessary. Then he says "If you're gonna stand there and tell me that my baptism is invalid you're full of
!" Haha and we hadn't even said anything to the guy yet, he just saw us and lost it. Man, that threw off the whole afternoon for me, it made me pretty mad. But thankfully I have Elder Brunsdale who helped me have a different perspective on that guy. Anyway...that was one time and then it happened again last night actually, one of our investigators on date texted us in Spanish of course saying "Stop messing with me" ...but he didn't say messing. That kinda made Elder Brunsdale put down because he was a super cool guy and super super nice too! Dang...it made me think of one of my favorite New Testament stories in Acts.
Acts 5:40-42
40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
This story teaches us to just be diligent, even when confronted with hardship. I love it. The story starts at verse 25. I invite you to read it sometime! Anyway...we got 5 new investigators this week! We found a family of 4 in Georgetown South and they understood the message super well! They said they want to know if it's true! We'll see how it goes with them.
Well this week Elder Brunzy and I decided to change up our morning routine. We decided to eat breakfast first thing in the morning that way I can wake up quicker...then we plan our day and then do personal study...and THEN exercise. That way it's not a drag waking up and knowing I gotta go exercise right then. It's been so much better...and Elder Brunsdale has all the Insanity cds so we have started that haha
We had a lesson with a less active named Andres Delgadillo and I found out he's in to metal music like me! I showed him some pics of me with Stasis on my iPad and he thought it was cool. He didn't make it to church though. We also met one of our referrals finally! His name is Paul and he has known the missionaries for 7 years! His wife is less active and they came to church yesterday!! We finally got an investigator to church! Ah that was great. We also had a lesson with Christian and we taught him the Plan of Salvation. We brought our WML Angel Montañez and he helped us out a lot to answer Christians questions. We invited him to church as well, but he could t make it. Dang...
That was basically my week. It was 80° on Saturday!! It's been kinda warm. We just got haircuts for free from a less active hermana in the Ward. She's awesome. We're gonna play some more ball and take it easy, todo tranquilo. Hope you all have a good week!
