This week there wasn't a whole lot that happened. Tuesday we had
interviews with President Huntsman and we found out Elder Hild might
be going back to the English program so he's kinda down about that.
We also had a zone training on Wednesday and our zone focused on Mark
9 and how we should believe and not fear. We set a goal to have our
zone have double the amount of people on date for baptism than what we
do right now. It was really inspiring.
Thursday was my year mark!!! 😱😱🎉🎊🎉 it was a good day. It was
probably the most unhealthy I've ever eaten in a day haha. So my comp
is awesome and he made me his puffy pancake he calls it. He made me
some German pancakes and it was super good! Next, I decided I wanted
to try Smash Burger for the first time and so we went there for lunch.
So much good food...we spent that day as a driving day out to
Warrenton to try a referral and a few potentials and we put on our
Christian country music and basically drove all night. We met this
really interesting lady named Arabia Johnson. She's Muslim but she
speaks perfect Spanish along with 6 other languages!! She is native
Arabic but it was so interesting because she speaks perfect Spanish
like a native and English too! ''Twas the first time I've taught a
Muslim in Spanish! Funny story we met this crazy American guy that
morning who answered his door shirtless and immediately started going
off on how the church told him to vote for Trump and weird political
stuff like that and then he was like "It's true! It's true! It's true!
It's true! It's true! It's true! Haha like 6 times in a row. Anyway
before the day was over we swung by Coldstone because President
Huntsman told me to go buy the biggest ice cream we could find for me
and Elder Brunsdale and he would put it on his card. 😍 I love my
mission president.
We met with Andres Delgadillo again on Saturday and we invited him to
church again. And he came on Sunday! But he disappeared super fast
after Sacrament meeting haha. Sunday morning was a miracle. We
finally saw Alex and his brother Melvin! And we got them back on date
for baptism for 4/22!! His kids were all over the place to the point
that we could barely hear ourselves talking but somehow they
understood all of it. We didn't get anybody to church 😥 we had a
dinner with the Joya family after church and hermano Joya is like a
pro chef and he just made this dessert from scratch with just stuff he
had in his fridge and it was soooo amazing! It's like this Angel food
cake with vanilla yogurt, mini oranges, syrup, whipped cream and
cinnamon. I don't know how he made that up. So Sunday night we were
able to see Lorena again who lives in the mansion in Warrenton.
Thanks to daylight savings, we were able to get a pic of her house!
It's so pretty. Anyway, we taught her the Plan of Salvation and
Lorena understood everything. She is the most intelligent
investigator I have seen. She remembers everything that we say! We
invited her and her bf to be baptized but they said they want to learn
more.
So today the funny thing was is that we bumped into the crazy Trump
guy again at Walmart while we were shopping hahahahaha and he started
ranting again lol....That's basically what went down this week. I'm
over the hill of the year mark now. How crazy is that? Today it is
suppose to snow a little bit around 8 and tomorrow there is supposed
to be this HUGE snow storm with almost a foot of snow. The whole
mission fleet is grounded for tomorrow so....I don't know what we are
gonna do without a car. That's my week.
❤ Elder Thompson
Cherry blossoms are on the way
That puffy pancake though...
Caught Elder Brunsdale zoned out at smash burger haha
