Ya viene el baustismo!

Dear All,

We have been focusing on the Book of Mormon a whole lot this week!!
Elder Pickett and I have a goal of placing 61 copies until Thursday
and we are at 45 so far! We have been seeing lots of small miracles as
we have been doing this.

Our week started off with an exchange with the other Elders. I went to
the other area in Falls Church with Elder Amott fresh outta Provo. We
spent most the day walking around because they didn't have bikes yet.
It was kinda embarrassing because they kept forgetting to get their
own bikes taken care of until I was in their area and all I did was
make a couple of texts to some Ward leaders and got it taken care of.
Now they have their bikes and we took them to get their bus passes
too. As for the exchange, it was alright. We just walked around a ton
and my feet were sore by the end.

We had our weekly lesson with Patricia on Wednesday. SHES GETTING
BAPTIZED ON SATURDAY!!!! It's going to happen. She's too awesome, you
would think that she's a member but she just needs baptism! We asked
her who she wanted to do the baptism and she said she wished that
everyone of us could baptize her haha but she chose Elder Cardona to
baptize her and ME to confirm her a member! Woo!!

We have also been teaching Patricia's daughter, Zahira. She is super
cool and we are just getting her caught up on the lessons she missed
with her mom because she works sometimes. She is on date for 9/09/17.
She's investigating separately from her mom, and Patricia doesn't want
to force her to do it either. Should be interesting!

So Friday there was TERRIBLE traffic on Arlington Blvd and...
everywhere it seemed. But we found out a tree fell on a power line and
the power lines were down on the 50 just passed 7 Corners...and we
live right next to 7 Corners so it was a pain and then we return to
the apartment with no power! The power was out ALL night!! It didn't
turn on till like...1pm the next day!

So that started our Saturday off differently....it was another car
fast in our mission so we couldn't use the car. We walked and walked
some more! You're able to talk to more people on foot. That helped our
BOM goal. We didn't have any new investigators but we did find 2 this
week. We taught Clara and her young daughter and they are super cool!
I see them being members. We have a return appointment this week.

Church was...interesting. It was fast Sunday of course but the weird
thing was our relief society had this big ol lunch like RIGHT after
church which ended at 2. It was kinda awkward.  But church was good,
there was this member who gave a really really touching testimony, but
I don't want to make this email too long. We got Patricia to church
and we had a pretty good week I would say. Que Dios les bendiga, y que
les vayan muy bien!

❤️ Elder Thompson
We found this little Chinatown place right by 7 Corners that we didn't
know existed!!
I came across this map again. I would recommend using this as a study aide
When you ask members if there's anything we can do for them and you end up with their son's unassembled Legos in your hands lol!
