Stressful Week With Changes!

Dear All,

Another crazy week went by. Seems like the start of transfers are
always crazy. We had the trio split up and Elder Pickett came to me
and Elder Cardona took the other area and he is training a new
missionary Elder Amott from Bountiful. Basically...there was a TON of
confusion over who got what area and who was taking the bikes and the
car. So on our designated driver PDF we got, it said Elder Cardona was
driving and so we talked it out between us 4 missionaries and Elder
Cardona wanted to take the bikes because he and his trainee are
actually both really fit.  We called the APs and Elder Browne our
vehicle coordinator and asked to switch the car back to our area
because we had it first haha so childish right? So we made the switch
but then the APs called a few days later after we moved everything
back and said it was President's intention to have me and Elder
Pickett on bike...but they said it was ok the way it was because
Cardona was ok with it and we had already moved them out.  Another
thing was during this whole time...the other Elders did not have a
phone! We had turned in the other areas phone back to the mission
office and so the first 2 days of the transfer they didn't have a
phone and so it just added to the craziness. No matter, things are
starting to settle down again. So we have a pretty new district; Elder
Amott and Hermana Doyle (from PG) are both being trained and they both
ended up forming part of the program at church haha Elder Pickett gave
a talk too. Elder Pickett is from Idaho Falls and has been out 23
months! This will be my first time killing another missionary...that
is, to be their comp on their last transfer.

As for people, Patricia is chugging right along for her baptism on the
12th! We got her daughter Zahira on date for baptism too!! She is
planning to be baptized on 9/9/17.  We had a lesson with Pedro and
Veronica and with our new investigator Gilmer. He's super humble and
has a lot of questions. He told us that he had a dream 15 years ago
that 4 Mormon missionaries approached him, 3 being American and one
Hispanic and they taught him out of a book. We had planned to read the
first 12 verses of the BOM with him and it just fit perfectly with his
vision and that of Lehi...and the fact that he's met me, Pickett,
Andrus and Cardona...3 Americans and 1 Hispanic.  It was pretty
spiritual.

We had another stake Breakfast morning at President
Stansel's house and right after eating we had the LeSuers pick us up
for a baptism in Little River Ward in Annandale cuz Elder Pickett was
baptizing his investigator Jose. I actually interviewed him earlier in
the week. It was my first one as a district leader! It was a good
baptismal service. Can't remember what happened because for some
reason the APs switched our areabooks so we synced one day and
everything was blank and wiped and the other Elders got our records
and info. So we've been trying to divide out the area book and all the
potential and former investigators and what not...it's been a week. I
normally look at the Areabook to remember what has happened. We ended
up near D.C. again this week so we took some better pictures.
