Week 34
Dear All,
Not a lot happened this week. After writing that email last week, we
hurried down all the way to Lorton to a members house in the English
program. We watched 17 miracles and here was a bunch of food and
stuff so it was fun.
Tuesday, we had a dinner with Hermana Deza but we were kinda late. And
amazingly that night we went and contacted two of our referrals and we
got return appointments for both of them! This week we had a lesson
with Elkin and his great grandma we actually went and got her a giant
BOM for her to read. We taught them The Restoration. On Friday
though, we arranged a trip to the temple visitors center for Elkin!!
We had Hermano Gonzalez drive us up into Maryland with him and it was
an awesome experience for him. I got to watch the new Meet the
Mormons segment and it was about the Japanese family band so I really
enjoyed watching that one haha. The Hermanas there showed him around
and taught him the importance of church attendance. It was an awesome
night!
Well Saturday, we had a lesson with Obispo! It was our fastest lesson,
15 minutes. That was nice. Then we had a lesson with Charlie,
annnnd....he told us he doesn't want to investigate the church anymore
but to "make us happy" he would go to church one more time. That
night, we were tracting and this super strong evangelica invited us in
and we had a bible bash!!! Well...my comp did. She wouldn't even let
me finish my testimony but my comp is really assertive so it was
really interesting 😳 I'm with Jordan, bible bashes always just leave
you feeling angry or frustrated.
Yesterday, church was really normal. After church we met with Hermano
Figueroa and gave a quick lesson with his family. Then we went
straight to Hermana Bozo the less active to teach them, and then to
Marcos but they weren't there and we brought a member 😳 whoops. Oh
and then we ended up at the Fairfax hospital at 9 at night to give a
blessing to someone who was actually referred to us!! Crazy! It was
one of our old referrals we passed to the Hermanas!
Today, we are in DC again, we wanted to go to the zoo, but we got off
on the wrong Metro station so it would have been a long walk. So we
went to the holocaust museum...again. And that's my week, kinda simple
and maybe it seems boring, but a week as a missionary has more
miracles and blessings that you can't write near the half of them.

Week 33
Dear All,
I don't have much to write because this week was kinda normal other
than we found 3 new investigators and I gave 3 blessings this week! We
did a lot of work with Facebook and calling people this week and we
had at least one lesson with all of our investigators. We got sad
news as our recent convert Timoteo dropped us. He doesn't want to
come to church anymore 😰 He just said no more. We had lunch with
Obispo Figueroa one day and we also helped Hermana Deza moving her new
fridge in. We actually fasted on Saturday because we had the idea to
do it for our 1 hour of pure finding. It was my companions idea for
our district. Sunday, before church the fire alarm went off and the
fire engines came haha but someone just pulled the alarm. In church we
had the combined 3rd hour class on Tithing and it was good. We
checked on referrals after church and had a lesson with Marcos. We
read Alma 7 and discussed the importance of a Savior. Today, is an
easy day but I still have small time to write somehow hahaha I got
my jersey this week, Elder Piña got every other Spanish Elder a jersey
for soccer with our mission logo on it its so cool!! Anyway, today I
bought a 1000 piece Star Wars puzzle with tiny scenes from the movies
on each piece and we got lost for 2 hours in that today hahaha our
whole zone is going to a members house to watch 17 miracles
tonight...should be fun! I hope you all have a safe and Happy
Halloween!! Pass out some wassle for me!

Week 32
Dear All,
This week was interesting! Last week on Monday, one of our 2 Noches
de Hogar canceled and the other one, we didn't have any investigators
show up. 😰 We invited Daniel, Marcos and Hermana Iris but none of
them made it. So we just taught the family.
On Tuesday, we had zone training which we were really late for because
the other Elders didn't tell us they they needed a ride until like
last minute. We made it there and the zone leaders introduced PST 90X
haha we were taught about the importance of planning, studying and
teaching all together in unity. That night, there was a wedding in
our Ward!! It's kinda interesting the guy is 25 and la hermana is
about 37 haha but they're awesome. It was just at the church and she
was an hour late to her own wedding so we had to leave so we didn't
see it haha. We went to teach Charlie instead. And that lesson we
brought Fabricio the less active for the first time!! Because we went
to go visit with him from the wedding and then we brought him to the
lesson. It was a nice lesson. I spent the rest of the night taking
him back to Fairfax with Elder Castillo because we had correlation
that night.
Thursday we had a lesson with Timoteo who's our recent convert! We had
his friend former Obispo Figueroa with us. He had a lot of questions
about the priesthood and he wants to get it!
Friday was a different day. We changed and went over at 10 am to help
a less active move houses. We seriously spent almost all day moving!!
We made 2 trips of a huge moving truck and put everything in place.
We were moving their parents out of their house and they had sooo much
furniture!!! I was tired after that, it's been a while since I've had
my muscles not just sore but tired.
They night, we had our Ward party!! Elder Gosain and I did our best to
get people to it! And there was a lot of people there! Little River
Ward has the Noche de Hispanidad every year and everyone represents
their country and gets to show it off haha. It was fun, there was a
ton of different food from every country and ere was a show. There
was also a dance but we couldn't stay that long 😗 I really enjoyed
it, and we got Daniel and Marcos there!! I really liked the show.
That's the extent of my week, this Sunday we had Daniel come to church
and we FINALLY got him to stay for the whole 3 hours!!! 😃😃😃😃
because we invited him to and it was so perfect because the other
lessons were just for him! Ah man it was great!
Today, I almost hurt my comp really badly while helping him work
out...I'm not a good spotter I found out haha, we went to the mall
again and Elder Gosain bought new dress shoes. Well, that's it.
Shoutout to my brother Kyle!! Congratulations brother!! I was hoping
to be there for your wedding, but it was meant to be this way!! Take
care!

Week 31
Dear Family,
This week was a good week. To start, we had a Noche de Hogar last
week with a less active family. We were in charge of the activity so
we got mini marshmallows and did the one where you eat a marshmallow
and its sweet and then you put an ice cube in your mouth and try it
again and you can't taste the sweetness. We talked about how Nephi's
brothers were so prideful and selfish that they didn't want to serve
others. That's what it was about and it turned out really good!!
Tuesday we had another lesson with Fabricio. He is less active too.
I don't remember if I said this last time t every time we meet we walk
to the market and buy donuts and have our lessons there haha it's so
fun. He's really funny.
Wednesday was zone conference!! Me and Elder Gosain were late to it
though 😨😨 oops...I did he musical number again!!! I did the same
song as the one we posted haha because I only know 2 so far! It was an
awesome conference we had the stake president come and talk to us
about working with members and he gave us 9 points on what we can do
to help members. So awesome...that evening we had lessons with Elkin,
Charlie and another less active Hermano Mogollon. He told us his
conversion story and I felt so bad because I was already tired walking
in to his place and then he legit shared his story that was 25 minutes
of just him talking, like one breath!! Haha it was so hard to focus 😩
But it was worth listening.
Thursday we had a lesson with a less active family but we're working
with their son Mateo/Matthew on getting him baptized! He's 9. We're
having a Noche de Hogar with them tonight!
Friday, we had an exchange with our zone leaders again! This time I
went with Elder Burleson who is from Ephrata Washington!!! And we
found out East Valley was in his district so he played Jeremy in
football!! He knows you Jeremy!!! I forgot to get a pic with him but
he was Ephrata's QB number 10. Cool. We had an awesome exchange and
since my comp is the district leader we both went and stayed in their
apartment. It was fun!
Saturday, we had another lesson with Charlie and he's like opening up
to us more! He seems so much more happy during the lessons these days.
We had a cool lesson where we made a calendar for him with everything
we are going to teach him and everything he has to do before his
baptism which is now scheduled for November 6 I believe. That or the
13th...while they were doing that I actually taught the Restoration to
his little sister Marelin who's 9! It was a good night.
Yesterday we went to Ward council for the first time because Elder
Gosain is district leader now. We had that and church, we didn't have
any investigators come to church but we did have 7 less actives show
up to church!!! So that was awesome! That was basically it, we visited
a less active family the Bozos and then had a lesson we our
investigator Daniel and his girl friend Karrina.
Today, we haven't don't much other than the usual and we are now at
the library getting more music haha we have 2 NDH tonight!! Ones at
5:30 and the other at 7. Hope it all goes well. That's my week,
you'll all have to let me know how yours went this week!
